Guess what the rest say about singapore getting water from malaysia is right but may not have answered your question. The quetion is (I believe) about apartments not having storage tanks - Actually if you look carefully at each apartment block, there is a water tank at the top and this stores treated water which is pumped in via pipes.

Hope this answer your questions.

Duh...Singapore is an island. Of course there would be plenty of water...from the sea.

Just kidding. You mean water for consumption? It's provided by Malaysia and Singapore govt have to pay Malaysian govt at a price as stated in a contract between the two nations. And right now, the two countries are having a bickering because of water issue because Malaysia wants to increase the price but Singapore refuses saying Malaysia has no right.

Water is supplied from malaysia through huge pipes from Johor, the closest Malaysian state to Singapore. If you go through the causeway you can see these pipes. Singapore is also on to recycling waste water into water for domestic use but i don t know how much of these technology is used there at this time. It was at starting point when I left

Here is an education lesson for ignorant people such as you Yvonne! Obviously you have not done your homework thus making a fool of yourself and others like you! Singapore buys untreated water from Malaysia and sells it back to the Bumiputra's after treating, purifying and conserving it. If any individual needs further explanation on the above, please do not hesitate to contact me so i may clear your doubts and enlighten you on the actual situation between the two nations and as to why the Malaysian's are too dumb for their own good!!
